$1,700 in gift cards from Machesney Park businesses to be awarded through Destination Machesney Program

MACHESNEY PARK, IL (April 3, 2020) – In effort to support Machesney Park businesses during the coronavirus, the Village is hosting a Gift Card Giveaway through its Destination Machesney social media sites. As a no-purchase-necessary contest, the giveaway offers a chance to win one of 213 gift cards valued from $5 to $50 at Machesney Park businesses. Those who follow Destination Machesney on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram can enter the giveaway by posting the name of their favorite Machesney Park restaurant or business. There will also be a paper-based application form for those without computer access to enter by mail. “The Village feels strongly about supporting our businesses, especially during this challenging time,” said Community Development Director James Richter II. “The giveaway is intended to promote businesses in our community and help generate sales,” said Richter.

The contest entry period will run for at least 4 or 5 days, according to Richter. There is no purchase necessary to enter the giveaway, but entrants must be at least 18 years old to enter. The Village has also been working directly with Machesney businesses to connect them with local, State and Federal resources that can assist them during the COVID-19 crisis.
