First National Bank and Trust Welcomes Three New Residential Loan Originators

Beloit, WI, April 27, 2022 – First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) is pleased to announce that Al Herbst, Rhonda Banks and Jessica Striegel have joined the bank’s mortgage lending team.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Al Herbst has been a well-known mortgage lender in the Janesville community for nearly 25 years. Now as Senior Residential Loan Originator at FNBT, he is responsible for providing Sound Advice to people seeking mortgage and home equity loans in the Janesville area. His extensive experience with the mortgage process helps people understand how the loan progresses through each step from application to closing. His ambition is to help guide the bank’s customers as they meet their financial goals of home ownership. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Herbst is an alumni of the Janesville Leadership Development Academy. He has been a member of the Janesville Lions Club since 2011. He is active with the Rock-Green Realtors Association and the South Central Wisconsin Builders Association (SCWBA) as well as the Parade of Homes. Herbst and his wife Kelly live in Janesville with their three children. He will be based at the bank’s Loan Production Office located at 101 E Milwaukee Street, Suite 203 in downtown Janesville, and he will be available for appointments at the full-service Janesville bank office located at 2636 S US Highway 51.

Rhonda Banks comes to FNBT with more than 20 years of banking experience, working most recently as a retail bank manager for another area financial institution, which uniquely positions her for providing Sound Advice to consumers looking to purchase new homes or secure a home equity loan to make improvements to their existing homes. As a residential loan originator at FNBT, she will identify various lending products and programs for individuals seeking home mortgages by helping them through the pre-qualification process, assist borrowers with credit counseling, and build relationships with the bank’s customers. Active in the community, Banks has served as the co-chair volunteer coordinator for the Rockford Market to encourage community volunteerism. She currently resides in Rockton, Illinois with her fiancé, Randy. Together they have a blended family including twin daughters and two sons, and they are now the grandparents of four grandchildren, all under the age of four, with whom they enjoy spending time. Banks will serve the Northern Illinois area and will be based at the bank’s Rockton branch located at 300 E Main Street.

Jessica Striegel is joining the mortgage lending team at FNBT as a Residential Loan Originator. She joined the bank in 2019 as a teller and has worked most recently in the loan operations area, behind the scenes of the mortgage loan and home equity loan process. This experience and her attention to detail will help her provide Sound Advice to her clients as they work toward their goals of home ownership. Striegel is currently attending the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater studying finance, and she has earned a bank teller certificate from the American Bankers Association. She is a member of the Janesville Young Professionals group and volunteers her time with Beloit Meals on Wheels. Each year at Christmastime, Striegel is actively involved with the Striegel Light Show which has been hosted by her family for the past 15 years. Donations collected at this event are donated to the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin. Striegel resides in Janesville and will be based at the bank’s Beloit-Grand Ave office in downtown Beloit, Wisconsin.
