Our Story
Learn the history of Advia Credit Union
Credit Unions are member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperatives, designed to offer lower cost financial products and services. Credit Union membership is growing, and our industry has flourished since the philosophy of "people helping people" was founded with the first credit union in 1908. The services we offer are similar to those provided by banks, but our operating structure is very different. Our members are our owners; earnings are returned to them in the way of lower fees, better rates on deposits and loans and free access to convenient services.
Introducing Advia Credit Union ! On January 1, 2014, we became Advia Credit Union. This is the result of a powerful partnership between two very healthy and thriving credit unions - formerly First Community Federal Credit Union and E & A Credit Union. We are excited to offer our members new advantages, operating regionally throughout Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin.
With headquarters in Parchment, Michigan, we hold a total of twenty-four (24) full-service branch locations, as well as a growing number of our own ATMs. Members have access to surcharge-free ATM transactions via the CO-OP Network throughout the US and nearly 5,000 Service Center locations for basic transactions such as deposits and withdrawals. Our field of membership is available to those who live, work, or worship in the lower peninsula of Michigan, the counties of Green, Rock and Walworth, Wisconsin, as well as Winnebago County, Illinois. Our credit union is chartered by the state of Michigan and deposits are federally insured up to $250,000 per depositor by the National Credit Union Administration.
We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee made up of representatives from our field of membership. These individuals help guide and oversee our business operations to ensure that we fulfill our mission of providing lower cost and innovative financial services, and contribute to the sustainability of the communities where we live and work!
The recent partnership of our credit unions to become Advia Credit Union positions us within the top 3% of credit unions nationally in terms of financial soundness and asset size. Now serving over 100,000 members with assets over $1 Billion, we are poised to bring even better advantages to our communities and members. We are led by our President & CEO, Cheryl A. DeBoer, and employ a team of nearly 400 dedicated staff. We are committed to providing amazing service to our members no matter where they bank: in-branch, over the phone, or online 24 hours a day!
Experience the advantage via innovative financial solutions.

Cornerstone Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. When you join a credit union, you own a piece of it and have a say in how it’s run. Credit unions exist to serve their members, not to make a profit. That means their number one concern is not money, but members. That translates into great rates, low fees and exceptional service.
Today, we serve more than 13,600 members and are open for membership to anyone who lives or works in the following northwest Illinois and southern Wisconsin counties. Illinois: Boone, Bureau, Carroll, JoDaviess, Ogle, Lee, Stephenson, Whiteside, and Winnebago Counties. Wisconsin: Green and Rock Counties. Family members of current CCU members also can join. We are the only local credit union in South Beloit and look forward to serving you.

I am truly blessed to be one of the few people to have found my true calling in life. Finance intrigued me even as a child – how to control it rather than having it control us. I saw times of prosperity and times of struggle in my family, and this led me to a career as a financial advisor. I joined Edward Jones as such in 2015 after spending over 12 years in financial services, including three years in fraud prevention. I am dedicated to helping my clients achieve their goals and enjoy being able to make a difference in the multiple generations of the families we serve.
I received my MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University and my bachelor's degree from Rockford University. To better serve my clients, I earned the AAMS® and CRPS® professional designations. I am active in the community in such organizations as the Stateline Chamber, Rockford Woman's Club, American Heart Association and March of Dimes, an organization dear to my heart since my son was born prematurely.
In my work, I use an established process that begins by gaining an understanding of what's important to you. Only then can I build personalized strategies designed to help achieve your goals. Once these strategies are implemented, I am passionate about partnering with you throughout your life, helping you be prepared for and protected from the pitfalls in life that could knock you off track. Life happens and goals change, but this partnership allows us to adjust strategies with the purpose of your money in mind.
I am proud that when clients call our office, they reach one of my team members, not an automated service or call center. It is just one of the ways we strive to personalize your experience. Julie Tesluk, our Branch Office Administrator, is a former librarian who strives to provide excellent service to our clients. Don't be surprised if she offers a book recommendation or leads you to our office library!
Together, we can build and protect a future for your family. We'd love to hear from you.
