W@W Successful Clothing Drive

The Women @ Work Committee held a professional clothing drive to collect items for Rockford Rescue Mission’s Works! Program. This program helps those in their recovery program gain and refine the skills they need to enter into the workforce. Classes are also offered to the public including Microsoft programs, resume writing, interviewing skills and more.

Committee Chair, Angi Kolthoff, and member Kelly Maier were thrilled to bring 12 Large bags of professional clothing, shoes, and accessories to Rockford Rescue Mission’s State Street location. “It was really nice to get a tour of the Works! Center and see how great of an impact this makes for both men and women in our area. We are honored to be even a small part of it,” Kelly said.

The committee decided that this clothing drive filled a need for women because finding something appropriate to wear to a business interview can be a difficult task at many donation locations. This project fit their mission as they continue to educate, empower, and celebrate women. Thank you to everyone who collected and donated items to this great cause. These women are already thinking about what impact they can make in 2019.
