On Wednesday, March 21st the Stateline Chamber’s Women at Work Committee held a luncheon at NorthPointe Wellness. With over 20 attendees, it was a well-received event for the first luncheon of the year by the committee. The group enjoyed a networking scavenger hunt, a Mexican fiesta buffet catered by ABC Catering, presentation, and in the fiesta spirit a piñata. The poor thing didn’t stand a chance.
Lea Evers, Financial Advisor for Edward Jones, gave an educational presentation called Five Money Questions for Women. The presentation talked about how different long-term financial planning is for women than it is for men, and why it is so important to be thinking about it now.
The Women at Work Committee has a new Chair this year, Angi Kolthoff of Des Plains Office Equipment. When asked how she feels about taking on this new role she told us, “It’s very rewarding collaborating with the amazing women on this committee to offer events that support women in every workplace and ultimately make our community better. What a pleasure it has been to meet so many incredible people through this opportunity. It really is an honor to serve the Stateline area and I look forward to seeing our events continue to grow.”
