The First Membership Lunch was Good for the Group

Our newest general membership meeting, which will now be called For the Good of the Group, invited all of our business members to the Chamber Office on Tuesday, July 17th to enjoy a casual luncheon sponsored by Toni Brown of Stepping Stones Child Care Center and Gail Daer of First National Bank & Trust.  The goal of this meeting and future meetings will be to update our members on Chamber-related activities, provide a friendly atmosphere to get to know the Chamber staff, Board members, and other business members, and to ask questions.

We welcomed over 25 individuals, and while it was tight quarters, we immediately realized the potential of this kind of an event.  We started the meeting off with introductions around the room where everyone provided their name, their business/employer, and something “for the good of the group”.  Not only did we laugh a lot, we learned new things, too.  From there, Executive Director Chuck Gilbert gave an update on Chamber-related activities and we heard from several committee chairpersons about upcoming events.  Lunch included pizza and desserts. Lastly, everyone was given an opportunity to ask questions.  We are excited to be able to continue this event, and the next For the Good of the Group meeting date will be next quarter.  Stay tuned!
