Srivani Sridhar, MD, Receives Integrative Medicine Board Certification

SwedishAmerican, a division of UW Health is pleased to announce that
Woodside Clinic Family Physician and Integrative Medicine Specialist Srivani Sridhar, MD, successfully completed all of the requirements for board certification in integrative medicine through the American Board of Integrative Medicine (ABOIM).

This certification indicates mastery of the specialty and professional
commitment to adhere to the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) Medical Code of Ethics. Integrative medicine is defined by the ABOIM as the practice of medicine that reaffirms the importance of the relationship between practitioner and patient, focuses on the whole person, is informed by evidence, and makes use of all appropriate therapeutic approaches, healthcare professionals and disciplines to achieve optimal health and healing.

The ABOIM and other ABPS member boards have the following
requirements to meet their certifications:

• Graduation from a duly accredited medical school and active and
unencumbered licenses in good standing
• Approved accredited medical residency training program
• Recertification every eight years with a written exam
• Verification of credentials

Dr. Sridhar has a special interest in women’s health, cancer care, nutrition
and gastrointestinal disorders. She incorporates holistic practices into family medicine including dietary and herbal supplements and a mind/body approach to health and wellness.

“I bring a holistic approach to my patient’s care by assessing influences of
the mind, body and spirit,” says Dr. Sridhar. “In my practice, I have always
focused on promoting wellness, preventing disease and optimizing self-healing.”

Dr. Sridhar joined the SwedishAmerican in 2013 and came to us from the
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison where she completed a two-year fellowship in academic integrative medicine. She also completed family medicine residency at University of Wisconsin – Madison following medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Sridhar is also board certified in family medicine. She is a member of
the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Academy of Integrative and Holistic Medicine, the Society of Integrative Oncology, and the Institute of Functional Medicine.
