ROCKFORD, IL — In recognition to his commitment to supporting Illinois’ largest industry, State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Rockford) has been named a “Friend of Agriculture” by the Illinois Farm Bureau.

“Illinois farmers lead the industry in the production of commodities such as soybeans and corn, generating billions for Illinois’ economy,” said Senator Syverson. “There’s no question, the agriculture industry is incredibly important in Illinois.”

The Friend of Agriculture is awarded to lawmakers in recognition of their commitment to supporting Illinois’ agriculture industry. Senator Syverson received a 100 percent rating from the Illinois Farm Bureau.

“Given the uncertainty and challenges that the COVID-10 health crisis has created for so many, it is more important than ever that lawmakers ensure they are being a voice for our job creators,” sad Sen. Syverson. “I am incredibly honored to be a recipient of the Friend of Agriculture Award and look forward to continuing to be a strong advocate for Illinois’ farmers moving forward.”
