“Meet The Snappers” Scheduled For April 3rd
Welcome New Manager Webster Garrison And Your 2018 Beloit Snappers
BELOIT, WI – The annual “Meet the Snappers” event will take place Tuesday April 3, 2018, the Beloit Snappers announced Tuesday. This year’s meet and greet will take place once again at Beloit Memorial High School (1225 Fourth Street, Beloit) in the Cafeteria. Doors will open up to the public at 6:00 p.m. and the event will run until 8 p.m.
Headlining this season’s event will be new Snappers manager Webster Garrison. Garrison is no stranger to the Athletics organization, as the 2018 campaign marks his 20th season as a coach or manager in the A’s organization, including managing at five levels. The Snappers Skipper holds a 589-576 (.506) managerial record in 10 seasons.
Though the team is unsure exactly who will be suiting up for Beloit once Opening Day rolls around, this will be the community’s first opportunity to be up close and personal with the 2018 team. Players will also be available for autographs. The Snappers coaching and front office staffs will join the players at the event.
In addition to new Manager Webster Garrison, the Snappers also welcome a new General Manager in Jeff Gray.
“This is a wonderful event to kick of the year,” states Gray. “It means baseball is finally here, and it is great for the fans to meet the coaches and players, and they can form bonds with them throughout the season and follow them for years to come.”
Tickets to “Meet the Snappers” will be $5 per person and kids ages 4 and under can get in free. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the Snappers via phone at (608) 362-2272 or in person at Pohlman Field (2301 Skyline Drive, Beloit). Tickets to the event may also be purchased at the door of the Beloit Memorial High School Cafeteria. New team merchandise will be available to purchase at the 2018 “Meet the Snappers” event. The menu for the evening will be traditional ballpark fare.
The Beloit Snappers are a member of the Midwest League and have been the Single-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics since 2013. Opening Day for the Snappers 37th season is April 5, 2018 at Pohlman Field as the Snappers host the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
