If you’ve ever spent time in Rockton, Roscoe, or South Beloit you know that we have some really neat shops. If you haven’t, then you should take a walk in this beautiful weather and check them out. On July 14th from 10am-5pm, the Stateline Chamber is hosting the Main Street Tour small business shopping event. This is a great way to get you out and about to support the cool places right in your own back yard.
Shopping local is not a new concept and is usually celebrated in November on Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday. But let’s be honest, our local shops deserve love year round and not just one day. Sure the big box stores are convenient and you can probably find one every few miles or so, but that doesn’t mean that you HAVE to shop there. Our locals have some really unique gifts and items. Odds are you’ll find that perfect gift, even for the person who has everything, in one of these small businesses. Or just get something to treat yourself, you deserve it. Just tell your husband/wife we said it’s okay. Even if you don’t like shopping, that’s fine. There are also storefronts that offer services. Salons, creative studios, and more can be found in Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit.
Did we mention free stuff? Okay maybe it’s not all free but if you make a purchase at one of the participating locations and fill out the sheet at the counter with the store representative, you’ll be entered to have the Stateline Chamber pay you back for your purchase (up to $100). Make sure to look out for specials and offers that will be available on Saturday. They can be found with other information about the event on the chamber’s website and Facebook.
So stroll, dine, and of course shop your way through Rockton, Roscoe, and South Beloit on Saturday, July 14th. Invite your friends and make it a day to go out and show our local owners your support.
