Love is in the air this February at North Suburban Library District (NSLD). NSLD will be celebrating National “Love Your Library” Month with a host of fun activities and special offers. Try NSLD’s digital services, attend a free program or catch up on some great reads. NSLD offers two convenient locations for the community: NSLD/Loves Park and NSLD/Roscoe. Stop in and check out what’s happening at YOUR library and have a chance to WIN prizes!

Get a library card!

In February, if you get a new library card or renew an expired card, you will receive a free NSLD DVD rental. Library cards are free if you live in the district. Children ages 5-17 can get a library card with a parent/guardian. Library cards are issued for a three year period. With your library card, you have access to best sellers, a free digital collection, fun and educational programs for all ages, DVDs, music CDs, and much more. NSLD will be offering ½ off NSLD fines and DVD rentals the week of February 3-9, 2019.

Love eBooks?

If you enjoy reading with your mobile device, NSLD has you covered! Try an eBook, eAudiobook or eMagazine from NSLD’s extensive collection. All patrons receive this great digital service with their library card for free! Want to get started? Go to the NSLD website at www.northsuburbanlibrary.org under “eCollections” for simple instructions. If you need help learning how to use this service, NSLD offers one-on-one training at each library location.  NSLD/Loves Park’s training is Monday–Friday from 10 am-noon. NSLD/Roscoe’s training is on Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6–7:30 pm.

Looking to try something new?

Attend a fun and free event at your library! NSLD offers free programs for all ages. In February, NSLD will be offering Movie Matinees, Color and Relax, a painting workshop, and computer classes just for adults. Teens can attend a CPR class taught by Mercyhealth Systems. Teens will also have DIY and art workshops coming in March. Children can look forward to LEGO Days, Crafty Reader, Tween Catapult Challenge, Story Hours and Reading Buddies – just to mention a few. Follow NSLD on Facebook for a listing of current events or check the website’s   online calendar. Be sure to “Like, share and comment” on NSLD”s Facebook page the week of February 10-16 for a chance to be entered in the DIY Date Night Drawing with Main Street Meat Co.!
