Goldie Floberg Kicks Off the Holidays With Annual Mother Christmas Program

Goldie Floberg has a long history of ensuring holiday cheer and wonderful memories, especially through the decade’s long tradition of Mother Christmas and her gift-giving program. Mother Christmas needs help again this year to provide wonderful Christmas gifts for the children, teenagers, and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities served by Goldie Floberg. Clients are working on wish lists now and are excited for the Christmas season to come with presents under the tree.

“Just like Saint Nicholas, Mother Christmas makes dreams come true,” says Floberg president/CEO John Pingo. “Our community has ensured, for over 100 years, that the individuals we serve have a wonderful Christmas too.”

Beginning Wednesday, November 1, 2023, wish lists will be ready and Mother Christmas’ helpers will be answering calls at (815) 708-7479 and messages at MotherChristmas@GoldieFloberg.org for suggestions in the range of $5-$30 and donations to support the project. Individuals, community groups, and businesses are all encouraged to take part and make this the best Christmas for the kids and adults Goldie Floberg serves.

Unwrapped GIDs will be collected at Floberg’s administrative office at 4960 E. State Street, Suite 300, Rockford, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. by Monday, December 12th.

More drop-off sites are Roscoe Pack & Mail, 5062 Rockrose Court in Roscoe, Getz Fire Equipment, 2420 Harrison Ave in Rockford, and Choreo, LLC or RSM US LLP, 1252 Bell Valley Road, 3rd Floor in Rockford. Drop-offs should be made inside the buildings during regular business hours.
