FOREST CITY GEAR SPONSORS STONE BRIDGE ½ MARATHON & 5K BENEFITTING LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA

Forest City Gear sponsored the Stone Bridge ½ marathon and 5K race on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Roscoe, IL. The race was organized by the Stateline YMCA and benefits LIVESTRONG at the YMCA in Beloit, WI, a small group program designed for supporting adult cancer survivors.

“We are proud to support our local YMCA and the programs they provide, especially the 12-week-long LIVESTRONG program for cancer survivors that the Stone Bridge race benefits,” said Mindy Young, Forest City Gear Trustee and youngest daughter of Fred and Wendy Young. “We are intimately aware of how cancer can place life on pause, and that having access to the LIVESTRONG program is important for survivors to ‘press play’ again.”

Mindy ran the Stone Bridge 5K accompanied by three friends, comprising “Team FCG”: Theresa Johnson, Jesse Johnson, and Christina Miller (spouse of CNC Machining Division Manager Mike Miller). Jesse placed 1st for his age division and Theresa placed 2nd in her age division. Mindy and Christina proudly placed 70th and 71st overall.
