FNBT Announces Promotions

Beloit, WI, May 26, 2021 – First National Bank and Trust (FNBT) is pleased to announce the following changes within the Small Business, Credit, and Retail departments.

Stephanie Lawton is transitioning to Vice President Credit Administration. With more than 10 years of banking experience, much of which has been focused on small business and commercial portfolio management, Stephanie worked closely with the retail and commercial banking teams during the pandemic to lead the bank’s implementation and management of the Paycheck Protection Program in 2020. Now as the Vice President of Credit Administration, she will be responsible for helping direct loan policy, enhance credit department reporting, and work with bankers to ensure credit quality is maintained. Stephanie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English as well as a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with a minor in criminology and law studies. An avid learner, Stephanie is working on her Master’s degree in Business Administration through University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and Credit Risk Certification through Risk Management Association (RMA). Stephanie is FNBT’s Ambassador for Forward Janesville, Inc. and a member of its Leadership Team. In addition, she has partnered with the YWCA Northwestern Illinois to teach several sessions for women entrepreneurs. Stephanie resides in Janesville and will split her time between the Janesville Loan Production Office and FNBT’s branch located at 345 E Grand Ave in Beloit.

Renae Stevens is transitioning to Vice President Small Business Development Officer. In her new role, Renae will work with the bank’s branch managers to provide Sound Advice, meet the lending needs of small businesses in our communities, and grow our small business loan portfolio. Prior to working in banking, Renae was a small business owner managing a salon. She entered the banking industry in 1994 and graduated from the Midwest School from Community Bankers. Since then, she has completed FNBT’s Leadership Development Program, and has served in many roles including teller, operations manager, personal banker, and proof operator, before being promoted to branch manager. She has been with FNBT for nearly 25 years. Her small business expertise and knowledge of banking allows her to provide Sound Advice to customers and businesses to help them become financially successful. Stevens is an active member of the community and served as a board member for the Winnebago Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. She resides in Byron, Illinois with her fiancé, Mark, and her two sons, Chase and Chandler. Renae will be based in Beloit at FNBT’s 345 E Grand Ave. office.

Ashley Schinderling is being promoted to Branch Manager of FNBT’s Winnebago, Illinois office located at 500 N Elida Street. In her new position, she will be responsible for day-to-day branch operations, coaching and developing branch staff to help them achieve personal goals, and providing exceptional customer service to the bank’s consumer and business customers. Ashley joined FNBT in 2018 and now has 10 years of banking experience. She most recently worked as the Teller Supervisor and Universal Personal Banker at the Winnebago branch. She earned a certificate in child development from Rock Valley College with a minor in psychology, and has since received several certifications through the American Bankers Association. She is currently enrolled in FNBT’s leadership development program. In her free time, Ashley volunteers with Noah’s Ark and other animal rescue organizations. She lives in Winnebago with her cat, Muffin, and enjoys adventures including traveling, playing sand volleyball and working with a pit crew at the Rockford Speedway.
