First Community Credit Union Launches Food Drive to Support Local Families

This holiday season, First Community Credit Union (FirstCCU) is inviting its members and the community to come together in the spirit of giving through its annual Thanksgiving
Food Drive, running from November 5 through November 30.

The campaign is a chance to make a meaningful difference for families facing food insecurity, including those impacted by the recent government shutdown. Donation bins will be available at all FirstCCU branches during business hours (9 AM – 5 PM), with community members encouraged to contribute nutritious, shelf-stable food items such as:

  • Canned vegetables and fruits
  • Canned meats and tuna
  • Rice, beans, pasta, and macaroni & cheese
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Cereals and oatmeal

“This time of year reminds us just how powerful compassion can be,” said Jack Gill, President & CEO of FirstCCU. “Every can, every box, every thoughtful donation represents a warm meal and a message to someone in need: You are not forgotten. That’s something we can all be proud to be part of.”

In addition to collecting food, FirstCCU will make a monetary donation at the close of the drive to help support the critical work of local food pantries.

Community members are asked to consider not just what’s in their pantry, but what they would be proud to share with a neighbor. By working together, FirstCCU hopes to bring comfort and nourishment to tables across the region this Thanksgiving.
