The financial services firm Edward Jones was named the No. 1 large company on the Best Places to Work in Illinois 2019 ranking, according to Lea Evers, a financial advisor in Roscoe.

The Business Ledger teamed up with the Best Companies Group of Harrisburg, Pa., to rank the state’s top 69 employers. Companies named Best Places to Work in Illinois for 2019 were divided into 18 large companies, 21 medium companies and 30 small-sized companies by the number of people they employ in Illinois.

The ranking was based on an employer inventory of practices and an anonymous survey of employees, who were asked to agree or disagree with dozens of statements about the firm, teamwork and their individual experience at the firm. For 14 consecutive years, Edward Jones has ranked in the top six Best Places to Work in Illinois.
