Beloit Health System Volunteers Announce Scholarship Winners

Beloit Health System’s Volunteers in Partnership (VIP) recently announced the winners of eight $1,500 scholarships awarded to high school graduates who are entering the field of medicine.

 

The following are the scholarship winners, their high school, intended college or university, and career goal:

 

  • Nicole Lisek, from Boylan High School, is planning to attend Marian University, Indianapolis, IN and major in Biology
  • Hannah Gurholt, from Beloit Memorial High School, is planning to attend Lake Forest College and major in Biology.
  • Breanna Hoppe, from S. Beloit High School, is planning to attend Western IL University, and major in Nursing/PreMed
  • Bailey Cronin, from Beloit Memorial High School, is planning to attend Oakland University, and major in Biology and PreMed.
  • Jinan Sous, from FJ Turner High School, is planning to attend UW Madison, and major in Biochemistry.
  • Mary Freedlund, from Hononegah High School, is planning to attend University of Notre Dame, and major in Biology and Neuroscience.
  • Meghan McCarthy, from FJ Turner High School, is planning to attend Ripon College, and major in Biochemistry and PreMed.
  • Travis Dao, from Beloit Memorial High School, is planning to attend UW Madison, and major in Biomedical Science.

 

Increased gratuities in the volunteer-staffed snack shop supported the scholarship funds. This is the 22nd year the scholarships have been awarded. Beloit Health System’s volunteers include over 300 volunteers, who work in 24 different areas of the hospital, clinic and its outreach centers.
