BELOIT, WI. (February 1, 2021) — Beloit Health System performed nearly 900 vaccinations to community members in the age 65+ category this past weekend, despite the challenges in the winter weather. “The BHS Team ensured that every individual who was scheduled to receive their vaccination over the weekend was taken care of. Everything went extremely smooth,” commented Sharon Cox, DNP, MSN, RN, Vice-President/CNO. BHS is most appreciative of the City of Beloit Fire Department and other volunteers that helped. Feedback related to the efficiency and organization of the process continues to be extremely positive. Since the State has deemed ages 65 and up as an eligible group, BHS has performed close to 2,500 vaccines for this vulnerable population.
“From the beginning of the COVID crisis, the Health System has been proud and humbled to take care of our Community. We have provided care for over 400 inpatients, testing for 25,000 Community members and close to 5,000 vaccinations since we started providing vaccine in late December,” stated Tim McKevett, President/CEO.
Following State guidance, BHS will continue to host additional vaccine clinics for the general public.
The vaccine clinic is by appointment only and is free of charge.
