Beloit Health System and Stateline Family YMCA Partner to Create Sports Medicine Facility
Beloit Health System (BHS) is proud to announce the creation of Beloit Health System Sports Medicine YMCA, a sports medicine and physical therapy facility to be located within the new Stateline Family YMCA Ironworks branch on 3rd street in Beloit. Creation of the Sports Medicine facility at the YMCA represents a partnership between Beloit Health System and the Stateline Family YMCA, two organizations whose missions align on the promotion of health and wellness in the community.
“We are excited to welcome Beloit Health System and to make Physical Medicine services available to our members. Having sports rehabilitation and physical therapy onsite will be an added benefit – not only in convenience for our members but in maximizing their odds of a fast and full recovery,” says Doug Britt, Executive Director, Stateline Family YMCA.
Beloit Health System Sports Medicine YMCA will focus on treating sports related injuries, including patients who are considered tactical athletes – those injured doing jobs that require specialized and intense rehabilitation like police officers, fire fighters, military, and construction workers. Staff members from Beloit Health System’s Physical Medicine department and YMCA will work together to offer a streamlined approach to rehabilitation that will maximize outcomes and minimize number of visits for patients.
“Research has shown that after an injury, a patient’s long-term outcome improves dramatically when they engage in regular safe exercise. This model enables patients to easily transition from rehabilitation back into their active lifestyles,” says Tim McKevett, President and CEO, Beloit Health System.
Beloit Health System Sports Medicine will open in August, with the formal opening of the new Stateline Family YMCA facility. Patients seeking sports rehabilitation and physical therapy services will need a referral from their physician. To request more information or to schedule an initial appointment, please call (608) 364-5173. Please specify the YMCA Ironworks location when calling Beloit Health System Physical Medicine to request an appointment.
The opening of the Sports Medicine YMCA will add to the comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation services Beloit Health System currently offers at numerous facilities including Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit; Occupational Health and Sports Medicine on Lee Lane in Beloit; and NorthPointe Physical Medicine at NorthPointe Health and Wellness Campus, Roscoe, Illinois.
