On July 25th the Stateline Chamber Ambassadors held a Bingo Night to raise money for the Scholarship Fund at the VFW Post 2955. With over 30 attendees, the event was able to raise almost $700 to go toward the fund. The event was a great success, so much so that they are considering making this a bi-annual event.
Thank you to all of the Businesses who made donations for the night: Anabel’s Cleaning, Culver’s, Dairyhaus, Volcano Falls, Stillman Bank, Farm and Fleet, VFW Post 2955, and Lea Evers of Edward Jones. A special thank you to all of the attendees, and of course, our amazing Ambassadors for putting together a fun night for the community.
Branda LaBuy, Stateline Chamber Director of Member Engagement, said, “We wanted to do something different, [an event] that’s only goal was to raise money for the scholarship fund. In the past we have done little things at all of the events the chamber holds and we wanted to try something new to center the focus around this great thing that we do for the youth of our communities.”
The Stateline Chamber Scholarship Fund benefits students planning to continue their education via community college, 4- year university, or trade school. Students eligible for this scholarship are from Harlem High School, Hononegah Community High School, and South Beloit High School. Applications will become available by the end of the first semester and can be turned in through the end of March for consideration.
