National Night Out

National Night Out is a country-wide campaign to bring together communities with their local police and fire departments to make the places we live safer and more caring. It was anticipated that this year 38 million neighbors across 16,000 communities around the country would participate in this camaraderie-based neighborhood event according to the National Association of Town Watch website. The Stateline Chamber was happy to be a part of the 35th annual National Night Out on August 7th in both Roscoe and South Beloit.

Some of the local activities for the night included meeting Mayors, Police and Fire Department members, as well as other government officials; prize drawings, games, bounce houses; and of course there were plenty of food offerings. Roscoe was able to hold their first public open house for their newly renovated Police Department. Tours were available for those who were interested. We were well represented by our chamber members who volunteered their night at the chamber’s booth in both locations.  The Stateline Chamber looks forward to being a part of this event again in the future.
