Goldie B. Floberg Center receives $5,000 Milestone RocVale Foundation Grant

Rockton, IL (October 3, 2016) – Goldie B. Floberg Center received a grant of $5,000 from the Milestone RocVale Foundation to help fund 2016-2017 camp activities for adults with developmental disabilities.

As part of the services provided to adults with developmental disabilities, Goldie B. Floberg Center facilitates annual participation in regional learning and enrichment camp opportunities. Camp programming is optional to adults served and offers physical, emotional, and developmental benefits.

Milestone RocVale Foundation granted $5,000 for 2016-2017 camps participation expenses of over 20 adults with varying support needs.  Funds will support annual program expenses associated with registration and transportation. The grant will fund 21% of the total annual program budget. Additional funding is being sought from individual, private, and corporate funders.

Goldie B. Floberg Center –  In 2018, Goldie B. Floberg Center will celebrate 100 years of helping underserved children and families in the Northern Illinois community. Today, Goldie B. Floberg Center delivers the Mission “to empower and enrich the lives of all people served” to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Through programs such as small group community living services, employment services, and adult learning services, Goldie B. Floberg Center partners with the people served, their families and the community to help individuals with disabilities become fully actualized citizens and members of their community.
